Do you teach your child in an out of school setting? Are you looking for an engaging way to get them excited about programming and science?

Let me come to your home or homeschool group and run LEGO robotics sessions for you.

As a qualified physics teacher and former Head of Digital Learning at a school, I’m ideally suited to bring LEGO robotics to your child. I love LEGO and believe in working with what your children are interested in in order to get the best results. My sessions for home students are centred around the children as much as possible and I tailor sessions to suit the home setting, including using LEGO that your child already owns wherever possible.

What kit will you be working with?

The main kits I use are the awesome LEGO WeDo 2.0. If your child already owns one of these, I am happy to use your kits, otherwise I bring my own.

These kits are programmed using tablet computers, and I can bring these. Sometimes children like to keep their code and in these cases, they can choose to program their creations using their own tablets.

I also teach LEGO Boost. This is a wonderfully powerful, and readily available home robotics kit and I’ll happily help them to get the most out of it.

For the older children at home, I prefer to use Boost, and can bring these kits over if you don’t already own one.

Can you provide evidence of learning?

For block bookings, I will write up comprehensive notes of what was learned and will map these against National Curriculum objectives by arrangement.
